Planning a wedding? Trying to figure out the music for the ceremony? Here are some tips about when music is generally played and some song ideas to make your ceremony unique to you.
PRELUDE SONGS are played prior to the ceremony as guests are being seated. These songs will set the tone for your ceremony. Some couples have no songs played at all and others choose 5 – 6 during this time; it’s truly up to you. Perhaps you want to have some of your favorite songs played that have special meaning to your relationship.
PROCESSIONAL SONGSs are played as the wedding party and important guests are seated. Depending on the size of your wedding party and family you may want to choose an additional song for this moment in the ceremony. Maybe you want to choose a song that represents your family and friends.
THE BRIDE ENTRANCE SONG is played as the bride walks down the aisle. This song should make the bride feel beautiful, strong, smart and loved.
Here are some BRIDE ENTRANCE ideas for the bride to be: Can’t Help Falling In Love (Haley Reinhart & Elvis), A Thousand Years (Christina Perri), The Way You Look Tonight (Billie Holiday), A Sunday Kind of Love (Etta James)
INTERLUDE SONGS are often used during the ceremony to signify a special moment for the couple. This would be a perfect type of song to play during the lighting of a unity candle. It can also signify a transition in the ceremony.
RECESSIONAL SONGS are played as the couple and wedding party leave the ceremony. The recessional song celebrates your new commitment to one another and is played as you walk up the aisle together.
