The main objective while planning your wedding is “make it perfect,” right? Well, what does “perfect” mean when it comes to your special day? A perfect wedding is one that genuinely represents you and your life partner-to-be, the love your share for each other, and the community of loved ones who support you. Your wedding day is a culmination of moments that you want to remember for the rest of your life. Moments like dancing with your father or mother on your wedding day are unique to you and your relationship with your parents. So your song should reflect the love you share for one another. These songs are meant to honor the mother and father and all they have done for you. Some say these songs symbolize the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Here is a great list of father/daughter songs and list of mother/son songs to spark ideas.

Choose 5 – 10 of your favorites and then dance around the room to them. How does it feel? Don’t get overwhelmed because there is a song out there waiting for you and as soon as you press “play” and start to dance you will just know. As you search, think about the tempo. Is it fast enough? Can you dance at a comfortable pace? Remember, the band can adjust the tempo slightly but not too drastically that the meaning of the song is lost. Do you feel the story of the song exemplifies your own story? More than anything make this dance unique to you. Also, keep in mind that I write custom songs for weddings and anniversaries based on your story. If interested please contact me directly at maryelobb@gmail.com
