• DAY 104 Oakland, CA (May 10th, 2012) I can’t stop smiling. I went to the copy center to make some flyers for my show next week and had the sweetest conversation with the woman working there and a customer who was making copies of her driver’s license.  The customer could not figure out how to use the copy machine so I began to help her. She told me that she did not want to learn how to use technology; she was too old.  I started to attempt to encourage her; 50 years old was not too old to learn.  However, she insisted that it was and confided in me by telling me that she was a cancer survivor.  I backed down about the technology bit and listened to her story.  It was interesting, like two fold. Half of her was defeated but the other half of her was resilient and ready to fight for her life.  Perhaps she just found out what it was that she wanted to fight for and what she was willing to let subside.
