• DAY 83 Portland, OR (April 19th, 2012)  This show was a whirlwind.  My brother and I drove from Seattle to Portland on a rainy Thursday morning to arrive at a cool pizza bar in downtown Portland called the Mississippi Pizza Pub.  It was raining like nobody’s business but I mean I could barely see the road on the highway.  The show was a success, a great crowd and so many people from so many different walks of life came together; it was beautiful.  I love how music brings people together.  The next day my brother and friend Eden and I went to the Museum of Contemporary Craft and saw the Betty Feves exhibit before leaving town. My brother is a potter so being around him is always refreshing for me as there are so many similarities in the work that each of us do.  Betty Feves lived from 1918–1985 and the amount of work that she created in her lifetime astounded me.  The museum was FULL and it was all so beautiful.  She was a married woman with children.  I don’t know how she did it all. There was one quote I read from her something about her husband not quite understanding the work that she did but absolutely understanding her need to do it.  That made me smile. For those of you in Portland – Check it out!
