Marye Lobb – New Album Mi Ola Out October 24, 2025

Ocean-inspired songs of healing and resilience

Bilingual singer-songwriter Marye Lobb blends folk, jazz, and Latin traditions into songs that move like the ocean — ebbing between healing and resilience. With performances spanning New York City clubs to international stages, her fourth album, Mi Ola, arrives October 24, 2025.

Marye Lobb is a Rochester-born, bilingual singer-songwriter and Berklee College of Music graduate whose soulful voice and multilingual storytelling have carried her from New York City clubs to tours across the U.S., South America, and Europe, as well as the vineyards and festivals of her native Finger Lakes. She has released three albums (Finding Home, Not At War, Top of the Trees) and the self-produced single Iceberg (2023), with her highly anticipated fourth record arriving October 24, 2025.

Her performances span venues such as CBGBs, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room, and the Stonewall Inn (NYC); Room 5 Lounge (Los Angeles); The Birchmere (D.C.); and Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Regionally, she has held a long-running residency at Rochester’s Little Theatre Café and played Finger Lakes favorites like Once Finger Lakes, Two Goats Brewing, and Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard. Onstage, Lobb blends intimacy, warmth, and joy — helping listeners feel at home wherever her music travels.

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Marye Lobb Announces New Album Mi Ola — Out October 24, 2025
Seven years in the making, the ocean-inspired record explores healing, resilience, and learning to respect our own inner storm — as powerful and untamable as the ocean’s fury may be — so that we may create a more harmonious world.
ROCHESTER, NY – September 26, 2025 – Rochester-born, bilingual singer-songwriter Marye Lobb will release her highly anticipated fourth album, Mi Ola, on October 24, 2025, available worldwide on all streaming platforms. To celebrate, Lobb will host a release concert that evening at Artisan Church in Rochester, NY (7 PM).
Mi Ola is a homecoming. Lobb wrote every song while studying her anxiety on a surfboard in Mexico. She created and sang every vocal, played every instrument — both live and synth — and produced the album herself in the home studio she built during COVID, after completing Kris Bradley’s Produce Like a Boss course. All the sounds in her head came to life through Logic’s library of sounds. The jarana jarocha (a small guitar-shaped folk instrument that is the rhythmic heart of son jarocho music from the Veracruz region of Mexico) makes its debut alongside her beloved baritone ukulele, setting the heartbeat throughout the album, while synth textures ripple and swell, forming a sea of layered sound. The record was mixed and mastered by Michael Jack, who also engineered her first album Finding Home (2008), bringing her journey full circle.
While deeply personal, Mi Ola also carries a broader mission. Only a small fraction of music producers are women, queer, or artists of color. To help shift that landscape, a portion of proceeds from the album will support Girls Rock Rochester— an organization close to Lobb’s heart that empowers young people through music.
“This record is about learning to ride the waves — both in the ocean and in myself. Producing it on my own was equal parts terrifying and liberating. I hope Mi Ola reminds others that resilience comes from moving with life’s currents, not against them.”
